Changes to the N&DCA

At the N&DCA AGM on 3rd November, 2014 there were some important changes to the N&DCA membership requirements.  Also, as a result of the changing pattern of events in the CTT NE District, the format of the 2015 N&DCA Best All Rounder Competition is being revised slightly.  The objective of these changes was to enhance the competitions and championships of the N&DCA and the location of clubs eligible for its awards.

1. 2015 Affiliation Fee.  The AGM agreed that this should be increased to £30 for 2015 in order to ensure that the N&DCA remains viable financially and hopefully to enhance its ability to provide awards for competitors.  It was also agreed to introduce a individual membership fee of £10 per rider to enable people to be eligible for awards where their club does not wish to join.

2. Area of eligibility to affiliate.  The N&DCA was set up in 1924 to control cycle racing in the old counties of Northumberland and Durham.  This basically remains the case today but it was agreed at the AGM that all clubs in the CTT Teesside and North East Districts should be eligible in future, thus allowing some clubs based south of the River Tees to affiliate.

All events in the NE District calendar for 2015 count towards N&DCA awards. To be eligible for N&DCA competitions and championships, clubs or individuals must be affiliated before the date of any event that the club and its riders wish to be eligible for.
