Presidents Run
The newly installed president will lead the Club out on the annual Presidents run on Sunday 13th October.
For those that have never attended the Presidents Run, the format involves a leisurely run out towards Sandhoe near Hexham, led by the Club President - Dean Madden assisted and controlled from his more longer distance urges by his VP Brian Bayne.
Once at Sandhoe we will run the Club Freewheel competition, followed by the significantly less pleasant Club Hill Climb Championship up Fawcett Hill. Both events are optional, however who would want to miss out on freewheeling downhill or coughing like a 40 a day Capstan Super Strength smoker for 45 minutes following a full gas attack of the hillclimb. For club members there is the added incentive of a trophy for the fastest rider.
Following the climb, all are welcome to come along to the Errington Coffee House (Formerly the Errington Arms) on the Stagshaw Bank roundabout for coffee and scran. Club members will also receive a contribution to a drink and slice of cake.
To give the good staff at the Errington Arms a steer on numbers please comment on the Facebook group or respond by email before Friday 11th if you intend to come to the Cafe.
The run back will be at various speeds, but whatever your ability there will be someone to ride with and no one will be left behind.
We will pick up riders at various points on the way out - approx pick up times: Earson (Red Lion) 08:00 sharp Ponteland (Car Park on Merton Road, next to Blackbird Pub). 09:00 sharp depart Stamfordham (Car Park opposite Swinbourne Arms) 09:30 Matfen 09:45 Sandhoe (HC and Freewheel) 10:15 If you are planning on joining at Stamfordham or Matfen - let us know so we can wait for you!
Friends of the club and potential new members are welcome to join us, so feel free to bring youor buddies along, just let us know numbers in advance
